Tracing the film’s topic to the ground, it’s about a deeply human trade: Jealousy. Here, jealousy is depicted in our lovely little breathing plant and its giant eyes that always want to own everything. The Flowerpot Monster just can’t look at something and not want to have it. As the story goes, we discover that the Flowerpot Monster didn’t think of what happens when a pinwheel catches wind. The grass is always greener on the other side.
